Taste of Cuba

The Taste of Cuba Support for the Cuban People program showcases the very best of Cuba, including colonial cities, cultural immersion, and historical insights. Guided tours, interactive experiences, and diverse landscapes have been carefully incorporated into this one week program. But let's not forget about the Cuban people and their welcoming nature!

Select your Own Departure Date

  • Spend 3 nights in Havana, 2 nights in Sancti Spiritus, and 2 nights in Camaguey in casa particulares (bed and breakfasts)
  • Embark on a walking tour through Old Havana
  • Visit the Cuban Fine Arts Museum as well as Hemingway’s former Home, Finca Vigia
  • Learn about community projects in Cuba on an interactive visit
  • Enjoy a car ride in an American Antique for a panoramic tour of Havana
  • Visit a ceramic studio in Camaguey to learn about this long tradition
  • Head out to the countryside for a visit to a working cattle farm
  • Visit various art studios in Camaguey on a bici-taxi ride
  • Savor Cuban cuisine during various included lunches and dinners

Day 1

  • Arrival in Havana International Airport, transfer to the hotel.
  • Brief meeting with the Tour Guide and driver to go over the program.
  • Panoramic tour of Havana, where you will see some of the city's emblematic places, like the 18th century University, one of America's oldest; the inviting Malecón; the time witnessed Paseo del Prado and the eye-catching Capitol. There will be a stop to take pictures at the Revolution Square.
  • Lunch at a local paladar, with time to interact with the owner and staff over their Cuban cuisine.
  • Visit to the art studio of Cuban painter Jose Fúster, to learn about his work and the importance of his community Project.
  • Check in at the hotel.
  • American antique car ride towards the restaurant. The drivers will proudly and gladly answer your questions on how they keep these rolling museum pieces up and running and in such good shape!
  • Welcome dinner at a local restaurant, including a classic Daiquirí cocktail. Return to the hotel.

Day 2

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • This morning start with an Old Havana City tour. The main city squares will be visited and your guide will tell you about their history and architecture, and provide details on the present Cuban reality. You will have several stops to talk to locals and vendors present in the area.
  • Visit to the best Cuban handicrafts market, San José, with time to interact with artists and vendors.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant, and time to walk around the area to interact with local shopkeepers and residents.
  • Return to the hotel.

Day 3

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Meeting with an expert at the Fine Arts Museum. Visit to some of the museum exhibits. Exchange with the staff to know about Cuban art projects today.
  • Departure for the Hemingway Museum. During this interesting stop, you will learn about the life and work of the famous American writer, and his relationship with and love for Cuba.
  • Lunch at a local paladar, thoughtfully decorated with Hemingway's life and work, and located in the town that inspired the author to write his Pulitzer Prize winning novel The Old Man and the Sea.
  • Visit to the Hotel Nacional de Cuba. The guided tour through the hotel will allow you to know about its history, architecture and all the famous people that have visited it, depicted in its Hall of Fame.
  • Return to the hotel.
  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Departure towards the province of Sancti Spiritus, one of Cuba's seven founding villages.
  • Stop along the way for snacks and rest room use.
  • Head towards the province of Santa Clara, which treasures a rich history and culture.
  • Brief stop at the Che Guevara Memorial. Chat with Memorial specialists to gain insight on his life and present monument.
  • Panoramic tour of the city, with a stop at the Central Park, with time to explore the place and talk to locals.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Visit to a community project. Interaction with artists and residents.
  • Continue traveling towards the city of Sancti Spiritus, through Cuba's lush landscapes and Escambray mountains in the distance.
  • City tour of Sancti Spiritus.Enjoy interacting with some of the locals in this colonial town.
  • Check in at the hotel.
  • Free evening for dinner

Day 5

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit to the Guayabera Museum, where you will get acquainted with the history of this Cuban traditional piece of clothing and what has made it a national symbol. The site's specialists will gladly answer your questions.
  • Visit to Trinidad, a picturesque 16th century Cuban village that seems to have been frozen in time. Enjoy some time to get acquainted with the historic center, visit the Romantic Museum and drink a special local cocktail at La Canchánchara Bar.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Return to Sancti Spiritus. Visit to El Yayabo bridge, the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Trova House. In each of these sites there will be free time to interact with the locals and get more in touch with the culture.
  • Free evening for dinner.

Day 6

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Departure towards the province of Camagüey.
  • Stop along the way for rest rooms and snacks.
  • Arrival in Camagüey. A panoramic tour around the city will give you the opportunity to grasp the essence of this Cuban founding village that has evolved into a magical city full of culture and history. Stop in the colonial area to admire the architecture and local arts.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Visit to the Casanova Ceramics Studio and learn about the history and techniques used to create the renowned "tinajones" (manually molded clay pots). Free time for questions and exchange with the artists.
  • Check in at the hotel.
  • In the late afternoon, take some time to walk around the city and visit the city's many squares and parks, as well as its cathedral.
  • Time at leisure in the evening.

Day 7

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Departure transfer towards the Camaguey International Airport.
